I was fiddling around with this and found this guide on google, for anyone who isn't techminded and has Windows 7 (it should be similar on any windows). This shows how to set up a static IP, which basically solves the problem that occurs after your router gives you a new IP (reboots etc.) and you have to log into the router and fix the ports to the new IP.
Don't get scared off by the length of the tutorial, it's basically just open up prompt, copy information, change ip in windows settings to the one you want fx. (192.168.1.2) plus a few other fields, you can of course never take number 1 since that's the routers own.
But anyways here it is, very simple and easy and now the ports you open will stay open.

As to people who are having problem opening their ports, I suggest looking on the manufacturer website for online documentation or contact your ISP on how to open ports (if they provided you with your router).
