Xzar and Montaron aren't where I left them

I've had them only for a short while, left them by the tree inside Friendly Arm fortress; when I was passing by after clearing Nashkel and killing Tranzig in Beregost, they weren't there (19th day, 12 reputation); they aren't where you meeet them, either. I haven't played the game for a while, is it intentional or is it a bug?

I'm not sure, but in the vanilla game I think they head to the Belching Dragon Tavern (or something like that) in Nashkel, maybe try there.

Edit: This actually isn't the case in vanilla, I think it's from a mod.

In the vanilla BG, if you reform your party and remove an NPC or more, they will sometimes walk off the screen and disappear. If you leave the map and come back, you will find them where you left them. It wasn't until BG2 that your party members would return to the Copper Coronet.

In your case, I'm not really sure because I never kept Xzar and Montaron once I got to Nashkel. I either removed them myself or Khalid and Jaheira would kill them. lol

I know that if you don't clear the Nashkel Mines within a certain time after they join you, they will leave. But, if I remember correctly, if you finish in time, they will not. The only other time they might leave is if your Reputation gets to high. I don't remember what the limit is before evil characters leave your party.

Except in rare cases, I've never heard of a joinable NPC leaving where you can't get them back.

Checked again, after drowning cloakwood mines (47th day)- they're still neither in Nashkell inns , nor where I left them (outside Friendly Arm Inn), nor where you first meet them (the map where Gorion dies). Seems like a bug to me... not that I was planning to use them anyway :P but still, it would be nice to bring all of the npc's to one inn and make it feel like a big family :( I miss Copper Coronet.

Yeah I think what I said about them waiting in a tavern in Nashkel comes from having BG1 NPC project installed, or maybe SCS. Some mod anyways.

Just met Elminster pretty much where I left them, he said something about going to Cloakwood (which I did long ago). Maybe his spawning is the reason they're gone :/ damn Gandalf wannabe.

They might leave in chapter 3 like Jaheira and Khalid leave from FAI. This was a BG1 stuff.
(I think we fixed the latter duo, but didn't notice Xzar would do this).

mmm. i took them from the very start and then dropped them at the friendly arm (when taking no kahlid and jaheira) and about 100 hours later, they are still waiting there...

Just checked, and it is as i suspected. If you leave them in AR2700 after chapter 2, they go away.
I think this can be fixed just the same way as Jaheira was fixed. (This stuff is present in both vanilla bg1 and bgtutu, just telling).

HI, I recruited Xzar and Montaron and then left them, but I don't remember where, I thought it was like with Neera they go to the friendly arm in but didn’t found them there, is there any way to know where we left them?
Edit : I found them in beregost, sorry :)
