Dead character bug

I don't know if this happens because of the last patch but i'm hoping someone can help me out.
2 of my characters died on the island where you are stranded when you cast off to retrieve the Balduran's artifacts. The problem now is that once i try to bring them back to life they are petrificated and have 1hp. And i am unable to control them. After removing petrification with a Stone to Flesh scroll they now appear to be frozen, just like diyng from a frost spell. Any damage to them will kill them permanently.
Anyone know if a good solution to this or a way to defrost your characters without killing them?

Aparently they died and had pretty much all death effects on them acid/fire/frost/disintegrate/petrifiction etc.
