Beamdog client question

This might already be a thread or been answered, but I have been searching for a couple of days with no answer so this is the only way I know to ask.

To get BGEE on the PC, you have to download the Beamdog client. I know this. My question is: Once you download the game onto your PC, do you have to constantly log into Beamdog to play it (like Steam) or is the full game on your computer and yours to play on or offline without Beamdog?

    You don't have to have the Beamdog client - the standalone Launcher is more than fine.

    Other than an initial online DRM check on installation you do not need to be online to play at all. Of course it is good to allow access if possible as the launcher will check for updates but it is not required.

    I have a question related to this.
    If I downloaded the game via Beamdog client can I remove the client and not have to re download the game with the stand alone launcher?
