Kaigan's Quest

in New Players (NO SPOILERS!)
I got Kaigan and I took him to the area just north of Bergost. He said some thing like "I'll never find the caravan, let's do what you want", when entering the area. His quest is still in my journal. I tried taking him to both caravan sites but nothing is happening. Am I in the wrong area?

    You are not in the wrong area.
    His quest was never properly implemented in BG1 and the BGEE team weren't allowed to add that content due to contract limitations. If his journal entry is still there in the active quests area, then it is a bug.
