Aec'Letec damage type

I have the girdles of piercing, bluntness, and slashing, and am trying to tank up for Aec'Letec. How do I know which damage type he does? I am assuming it is slashing, as he is using claws, but I would like to know of a way to find out for sure.

    Ok, I checked in near infinity, and he does slashing for his melee damage. 1d10 base, allows for str mod. It isn't what you should be concerned about though ;)

    More precisely, slashing 4 attacks at str 20 thac0 3
