Portraits in ipad (I know there are other threads but....) (Devs please respond if possible).

When creating a character, the import function is non-active (grayed out). Is this because there's no folder in the file structure? How do we get this active and/or where in the file structure does that folder look at?

If all that's needed is the correct folder name I can use iToolBox, which I know your development team has used as well.

I'm wondering also, within the customize tool of your character's appearance if you can import portraits there? I don't see a button for it. I ask because if I'm unable to use a custom portrait for any current characters, then I'll be stuck with ones I have, which don't apply to my character at all.

I'd gladly start up a game knowing I could swap out the portrait later, but it would be too bad if I'm not able to.

Moved this to general in case this issue is present in the other platforms, or if there's a cross-platform solution.
    Thanks

Looking at the other platform issues, what I'm missing is a custom button! It's just not there. There's normally a custom button under portraits for selection.

In the PC version, you need to creat a portraits folder in the appropriate directory and fill it with the images you like. N Folder, not button. I don't know where the ipad equivalent would go, or if there is even a way to set it up. Can you access file architecture on an ipad with some form of file explorer?

I imagine the only way to get extra portraits in the iPad version is to buy portrait packs.

    Don't quote me on this.

Yes you can access the file structure with iFunBox. The devs use it. Where do you create the folder on the PC version?

Documents/Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition. You plop a folder in there called portraits.

I'm not sure if they split the file storage on the ipad the way they did the pc version, as separate location for personal game files is a relatively recent addition.

If there is no separate location, just drop a folder named portraits into your main game directory and fill it with the appropriately sized goodies.

Check the stickies, as their size has changed.

Of course, do all this at your own risk, or just wait for an answer from someone who has actually done it.

@scanline Not familiar with the iPad file structure, but the greyed out import button isn't for portraits. Its for importing an entire character you've previously exported. What you really want is the button marked 'custom' that appears directly under the portrait selector.

Indeed, I had mention a missing button on the top post. Wondering if that button is missing, if there's no portrait folder present. For the iPad I think it's just a matter of figuring out where to put the folder.
