[Noob random questions]

I successfuly completed Durlag's tower. just one question. Do i need to keep wardstones/keys/mobs hair (from top tower) etc etc. ?? is there a way to sell em on a high price?
I also have a totem/idol from an excavation and it is supposed to be really profitable but i cant find the correct buyer.
I have gathered a LOT of gems. Are they used for enchanting weapons?
Can i craft weapons/armor? if yes from where?
In my party i have me(ranger)/Imoen/Jaheira/Khalid and Neera the wild mage. Its basically 1 heavy tank and 4 range dpsers. What class am I missing? should i kick somebody?

Best regards - a noob!

If you completed the quest and already left the tower, feel free to ditch all keys, wardstones, etc. You can always stash them in a container of your choice in case you need them later (if you forgot to loot a chest or something like that).

The same is true for every other quest that use keys/wardstones/etc.

    From Dan Simpson's guide:

    Spoiler
If you have both the Ancient Armor from the Firewine Ruins and the Idol of Kozah, then when you talk to the Ghost of Ulcaster, he will automatically exchange these two items for the Vampiric Sword. ("The Vampire's Revenge" is the swords real name, and it isn't that great of a weapon, just something to do if you haven't done it before)

    My comments:

    Spoiler

The Ancient Armor can be looted from a ghost that attacks you in the Firewine Ruins. That's the maze you can access from Gullykin (the halfling village).

The ghost of Ulcaster is close to the entrance to the Ulcaster Ruins.

Both areas are close to Beregost (and Durlag's Tower), on the eastern part of the map.

Other than that, the idol has no use. Except the XP you gained from defeating the Doomsayer that attacks you if on the door of the excavation site if you take the idol with you.

No. The only use for gems is selling them. Although in BG2, there are a couple of NPCs that will upgrade or make new magic weapons for you using items that include certain gems, so keep that in mind.

    Short answer: no.

You seem to have all bases covered in terms of classes (a priest, a mage, a thief and at 2 warriors). Different classes like Monk or Sorcerer can make for a different experience, but in terms of efficiency, your party is very good as it is.

Well thnx mate. one more question. Im playing with a friend and when i use rest im resting for 8 hours each time while will rest like 7 days... or more. Why does this happen ?

when you have rest until healed option on, your party rests until all hps returned. If you have a healer in party he will heal everyone in reasonable time. If you do not have healers, natural healing takes place (like 1hp per 8hours) so it takes days even weeks. Kagain is exception, he is a beast with 20 constitution score that he regenarates faster. Turn off rest until healed from game play options, you will rest 8 hours but will not wake up with full Hp.

Bring the shell to the blacksmith in Beregost. He can craft you Ankheg armor which is the same as full plate armor but weighs much less. Essentially the only crafting in BG1.

Ankheg shells can be sold to Thunderhammer in Beregost, or if you have the gold he can turn it into armor for ya (it's some of the best in the game, too, especially considering it's low weight).
