Observed: When you rest in an inn, a movie with a campfire and trees plays.

Expected: When you rest in an inn, a movie with an Inn and beds plays.

Ever since game update 3, whenever I rest at any inn it goes to the camping screen and I rest like I would have in the wild. It should just let me do a regular inn rest.

    This issue is already known.
This is a temporary effect related to the multiplayer rest freeze.
Eventually there will be real movies here.

I believe this was a "design feature". There are alot of movies that are in the original BG that were not replaced/updated with EE (for example the Knoll Stronghold and sleeping in an Inn)

Or not a feature, but rather just something that was removed. Merging them now.

Woot ... wonder if that means the movies that did not get redrawn will eventually make it in :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in BGI there was no rest in inn movie...that came along in BGII. Still, annoying from an RPG perspective that you get a campfire when you're supposed to be in a nice Inn. ;)

@bigdogchris: I hope, because if you are a naive Customer and you go to the Main Page of this game you still find this announcement and advertisement:

"All of the Baldur's Gate cinematics have been replaced with beautifully hand painted animated cinematics, directed by Nat Jones."

Not will be, or we are working on it, or something like that. And I read a post here in bug reports that there are still Areas, where you can freeze due to the missing day/night movies, so that fix wasn't perfect too. But still I love this game and waiting for it to be fixed. I just wait for a month and then try it again.

There were many movies that were never replaced with hand-drawn ones, which is what I am referring to.

There was no rest movie at the INN in the ORIGINAL BG.

I ignore most of Sese79's posts.
    Space_Hamster, that's fine.
So I guess I should amend my requests to either an Inn movie or no movie.
However, as an inside source said, Avenger_teambg, it is temporary thing and therefore I consider this closed and/or resolved.

Temporary fixes for the win! Why not take a look at this awesome thread, where you can download the old movies - and you can also read why campfires in inns are quite important those days... :-)

Or, if you are already firm with WeiDu mods in BG:EE, you could also go for Sam_'s solution. Even restores the Beregost first entry sequence, BG Intro movie (english) and maybe more cool stuff I am not aware of...

First one is in my opinion easier to "install", contains afaik higher resolution movies (info: higher resolution <> higher quality!) and if something doesn't work, you can yell at me to your hearts content. The second gives you WeiDu typical installer (and deinstaller) options and *all* original movies. But it lacks the charming german "Mensch, was war denn das?!" wyvern sequence audio track and Sam_ might not want to hear any complaints... tough choice.

    -- Onward, to futility!

I don't want old movies. I want new movies. And I want new movies that make sense.
Which is why I phrased my request the way I did.
