Your team

I was curious as to how everyone is building their team this time around and if you keep the same team or rotate people in and out.

I normally use people of Good Alignment just because it is my play style. In older games my normal team was Khalid & Jaheira, Minsc & Dynaheir & Imoen with myself being a ranger. However, I switched it up and did not pick up Minsc & Dynaheir. Instead I am using Rasaad & Neera and went Berzerker (not playing on multiclassing, wanted an easy character since it has been so long since I played).

I am not a big fan of Rasaad but am LOVING Neera. I know monks don't really shine until BG2 but am forcing myself to stick with him. I may even try to switch out Kh/Ja for someone else but I never really expermented with other characters just switch things up a LOT. I always stuck with the same team (unless I was doing an evil game).

Running with all 3 new characters + Edwin + Viconia. Evil playtrough obviously, Rasaad is beeing a bit of a douche in this setup, will replace him with Korgan as soon as BG2EE lands! :)

So far I am really ejoying Dorn, he packs a quite massive punch for early game! :)

I started with (in this order):

Charname (female elf neutral evil fighter/mage)
    Imoen
    Montaron
    Xzar
    Viconia

I then travelled to Nashkel and picked-up Dorn soon after. After doing Nashkel Mines I sent Xzar off to get petrified (wanted to keep Monty and wanted to keep the option open of getting Xzar back later, if desired) and picked-up Edwin to do the Gnoll Fortress.

Currently, Imoen has just turned level 5 thief, and I'm thinking of dualing her to a mage, but if I do that will probably have to drop Monty, at least temporarily, as he has most his thieving points in hide in shadows/move silently for scouting/backstabbing, and may pick-up Safana in instead to provide find traps/open locks duty, but the loss of a scout will hurt...

I picked up Montaron and Xzar but they didn't survive past the first map (ran across a dreadwolf which ate them both).

I travelled with Jaheria and Khalid for a while, but got bored and ditched them.

I've done most of the game with Imoen, Dorn, Neera and Minsc - had Dynaheir briefly but she got munched by a bear while I was fighting some hobgoblins.

Just recently I've picked up Yeslick as my 6th.

The main thing I've noticed is how bland all of the characters are - just so much less interesting than BG2.

    PC - Neutral Good - Ranger/Cleric
    Imoen
    Viconia
    and the 3 new NPCs.

I always like to mix my party alignments as it makes for great banter. :)
  • When I would play BG2 I would set my party up mainly around inter-party banters (though with an eye to making sure I don't get overloaded on one particular class/role). Most of the banters in BG1 seem to be between NPC's that hate each other, though, and most of those have the potential to eventually erupt in mortal combat. So at this point I'm just balancing the class distribution in my party and making sure everyone's alignment is compatible.
