Why i cant use my scimitar when i dual class to mage ? Is it BG2 only?

    You need to wait until you catch up with your kensai levels.

    Have you leveled your mage past the level you had in Kensai? If the Kensai class is innactive you are limited to mage class weapons only.

    BTW whilst a mage and before you get your kensai levels back *don't* pick any weapon proficiencies that you had as a Kensai, otherwise you will just lose the ones you've chosen as a mage

    Since you'll be much farther into the game than an ordinary level 1 mage, you'll probably have access to a nice supply of wants. Having a horror want and a fireball wand on your hip goes a long way regardless of what level mage you are.

    That's the drawback of dual-class. You are effectively a baby for a while.
