Stuff to get rid of

(1) Gift items which will only be found with a walkthrough, like the ring of wizardry at the FAI or the anhkheg plate at Nashkel. If it's going to stay there, leave an in-game clue like a tavern rumour. Or randomise the location if it's intended as a random easter egg. I don't think that a walkthrough and a set of coordinates is the right way to play.
(2) Doorknocking syndrome. It's sillly to have to knock on every door in BG and Beregost looking for petty quests. Some could be relocated to taverns or the street outside their house (perhaps Firebead Elvenhair or whatever his name is drinks at Feldeposts in the evenings, for example). Or there could be a rumour that the woman in eastern Beregost is missing her husband, with the front door to her house locked until the rumour is heard. This could save coding every commoner's house and would save every paladin the temptation to go upstairs and open every chest. Stealing change from commoners doesn't feel very heroic.

Anyway I'm slightly off-topic here but I still hope some dev reads this :P
Since your request also has another point, I'm not sure it would be a good idea to merge threads, though.
