Can't import stuff from BG1 into BG:EE

It only worked once with my Thief, Flora. Portraits won't import, no character's will import, (Not sure if Saves are importable for EE?) Saves won't import and the music won't import. The button for Custom won't even appear.

I made all the right Portrait sizes S M and L, they're all in bmp, don't really need to put the list down, I know I've done everything because I've done it before. :o Unless, however, BG:EE's importing works a little differently other than making folders? (Did read another Thread which is how I know I've definitely done it, so I guess it doesn't.)

    Put your portraits ina folder named Portraits in you Baldur's gate EE folder in your documents.

    Make sure it is not the BG:EE install directory but documents/baldurs gate - Enhanced Edition

    Then restart your game and the custom button should appear
