*spoilers* ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? CRASH AT AEC'LETEC???

So there I was, buffing my party before the Aec'letec fight in TotSC.
Here's my party:
Dorn: Wielding Two-handed Sword +3, and he has boots of speed, Full plate
Kagain: Simple battle axe +1, ankheg plate
Bjorn (My half-orc priest of Talos): Plate mail +3, mostly just casting spells (though he hast the +2 Warhammer from Basillus)
Montaron: Gloves of Strength: 18/00, Varscona (I gave him longsword **), shadow armor
XzarL (dualed to cleric, hasn't gotten necromancer spells back yet): Ankheg plate, mace +2


I've consumed 3 potions of heroism, 5 potions of haste, and a potion of hill giant strength.
Cast Prot from evil, chant, poison weapon, invisibility, etc.

And I go down to the dungeon, and smoke those cultists, and barely lose any hp in the process, even though Xzar was silenced, so he was attacking cultists instead of healing, AND my Cleric was the only one who got scared and starting running in circles. Luckily, lots of healing potions.

So Monty, Dorn, and Kagain charge the beastie while Edwin attempts to get past the thing's magic resistance (a few magic missiles got in, out of the 6 casts I threw at it). Monty and Kagain are tank-switching/healing, Dorn is WAILING on him, and he dies!

And then....game crashes....right before I get the 16k experience...
NOOOOO!!!
Well, time to do that again.

Shame about that. Hope it is only a coincidence and bad luck and does not crash on routine. It teaches us players to save and save often.

This is Aec'Letec best spell. He makes your game crash when you think you're about to win.

I'm quite sure at this point the devs will find a way to justify this lol ;-)

I managed to beat him about 5 minutes later, it was a one time only crash. Still frustrating though, and Xzar almost died the second time...stupid 24 hitpoint psychopath

Protip: Protection from petrification protects you from his gaze attack which turns you into a ghoul

@ajwz Good to know, but this didn't end up being a problem for mme. He didn't end up using this on me (or maybe I just made my saves every time?) The fight wasn't anywhere near as difficult as it was for me in Tutu (my Cavalier, Khalid, Jaheria, Xan, and Yeslick got schooled by that demon), but this time the fight was rather simple.

AFTER the Aec'Letec fight I am at 90,000. Perhaps I did it a bit early? And all of Durlag's tower? Xzar hasn't even finished hitting 7 Cleric after dualing from 6 Necromancer, perhaps I am quest-rushing (or just extremely under-leveled). Have you been doing lots of sidequests or are you just really far in the main quests?

@toanwrath I've done nearly every side quest I've come across :P

I skipped over some areas, and just ignored a few quests (Montaron decided that it was stupid to carry around a chew toy, so I never found the "child" 's dog, and a few other things like that). From what I understand though, there is still plenty of stuff to get to the level cap. Currently I am moving onto the rest of the TotSC stuff, like the shipwreck (which I have never done before).

For me the game crashes consistently every time at aec'letec. I really don't wanna go through this dozens of times.
