Can't install the game.

I purchased the game yesterday and downloaded the installer but BGEE.exe won't run. I run Windows Vista, the problem states: "Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition Launcher has stopped working" shortly after I try to open it. I've seen a couple people mention a similar problem but they had already installed the game and were able to run the game through Baldur.exe, but since I can't install the game without the launcher working, I'm out of luck.

I was looking for a nice evening of gaming last night, but alas!
