Not a proper Win32 application.

Hello, I'm hoping to get some help with launching the game. I've used the search feature and google and have come up dry with my problem. When I try to launch this, with the 00766 folder's Baldur app...thing... I get a message saying that its not a proper Win32 application. I have tried moving it to the c: drive, correcting the .ini document, and I've ran out of ideas. I'm not a computer savvy person and I was hoping for some advice. Oh before I forget I also re-downladed twice to see if it was an install error and I get the same problem each time. I have an Alienware mx17 computer, wont buy another one persoally, with Windows 7. My drivers are up do date I believe. I can play the old version of Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2 with mods well, but I want to support and play Overhauls too!

You need to start it with the launcher so it can twiddle the DRM bits.

Thanks for the advice Cerevant, but when I start the game from the Beamdog client, nothing happens at all.

Ah. Is there a BGEE.exe in your top level install directory? If not, try downloading the BGEE installer (use the link from the e-mail you got when you purchased the game) and put it in your top-level install directory (c:\Program Files\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition), then try running that.

Okay Cerevant, I"m doing as you've asked. It will be a while for the download again, but I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks friend!

If you put it in the install folder for the one you already downloaded, it should check the files and decide there is nothing to do.

Cerevant, I want to thank you and your efforts! The game works beautifully now! Perhaps a book recommendation is in order?
