Importing Custom Portraits

I can't seem to import a custom character portrait. I've followed the instructions in the manual, but the "import" portrait button always remains greyed out and non-functional. I've seen posts on the forum that state that the manual is incorrect, and that the directory is not located in the route folder, portrait sizes are larger, etc. Nothing seems to work though. Any advice would be appreciated - Thanks!
