Windows 7: Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition Flickering Screen

I cannot play the game in the state that it is in now. When I load up the game the screen keeps flickering between the fore and back buffer making it impossible to read anything or make heads or tales of the interface for that matter.

Am currently running Windows 7 With GeForce 9800GT+. I have tried running compatibility mode down to Windows 95 and am still encountering the same screen flickering regardless.

Start the game, then hit alt-enter to put it into windowed mode. Quit, then open it again (it should start in windowed mode). You can then hit alt-enter again to enter fullscreen, and the game should run normally. This works for me, so long as I start the game in windowed mode every time. Hope it works for you!

Thanks for the suggestion but I tried it in windowed mode (both loading up and straight in game) and it still happens.

I have the way to fix it. Enter the Baldur's Gate main menu and select "Options", then select "Graphics" and untick "Hardware Mouse Cursor". This stopped the flickering for me. Hope it helps everyone else. From one BG fan to the next :)
