How do I enter the premises?

I bought an iPad version and I have BIG problems to enter inside anything, Inns, houses, etc.

Most of the time the party just step inside the door area and stand there, often it takes around 20 times of going back and forward just to make the damn thing click and allow me to enter inside. Any special technics I'm missing about entering?

Don't recall any troubles like this from playing BG in 1998

Do you get the symbol of an open door (with an arrow going into the door) when you hover the cursor over the entrance to a building?

Nope, no icon. Same as when traveling to another area, but this doesn't cause any problems unlike entering the houses

Though there is no cursor on iPad, all you can do - touch the screen

I don't know that one can "hover the cursor" with a touch interface.

On the iPad version I think your best bet is to move the party away from the doorway, then pause the game, and tappety-tap the doorway area until you only see a single target designator blinking. Then unpause and hopefully your party will enter the desired area. (You may have to repeat this process if the first time you only open the door.)

I seem to recall they're working on a "smart tap" feature for the iPad version to make things like doorway entry easier.

I don't own the iPad version (apparently it requires that I own an iPad, hrmph!) so obviously a fellow iPad owner may have more insight, but I figure I'd add my two bits.

Yes, I think the main problem is absence of cursor. Even picking up an item is not easy, you should step on very particular point to make it work

Pausing the party, then attempting your action until you see only a single action cursor instead of the full party move cursor seems to work best. And trust me you WILL start to get a better feel for where to touch things. I just finished Firewine Ruins and it actually went quite smoothly.

And all that said, there is apparently a new patch in the works that should hit iTunes in a few days that addresses this issue exactly.

It kinda works. It least much better than random attempts to get through.

    Thanks to all for replays
