New NPCs reactions to reputation

SophiaSophia Member, Translator (NDA) Posts: 581
Before posting it in the bug section I wanted to know if I am the only one having this issue:

The new NPCs don't react to reputation changes. My reputation is now 18, it was 14 when I met Rasaad, but he never said anything about the increase. It happened the same for Neera and for Dorn. The old NPCs react normally to my reputation (in bgee even the neutral characters can be happy for your reputation, I love that :)))!!)

Have anyone else had the same problem?

Now that you mention it I don't recall Dorn ever saying anything about me losing reputation.

At least we can then have a party with all three new npc's without worrying about Dorn leaving, right? Or will he still leave at rep 19 or 20, even if he doesn't say anything to warn you while you're getting there?

He tried to leave when I jumped 18-20, but instead of actually leaving, he did the bugged conversation thing he does, acting as if id been the one to remove him.

Dorn just left my party with a 20 rep. Previously he acted as if I tried to kick him out and would stay.

Rasaad and Dorn never commented on rep changes. I don't know if that's a bug or it was never included in the first place.

Thanks, @Sophia. This issue needs to be addressed.

Indeed. I expect the new NPCs to lavish my CHARNAME with praise and affection when he does noble deeds, especially Dorn, who should offer to massage CHARNAME's shoulders with extra vigor for a job well done.

    As the song goes…

Don't you give a hoot Dorn 'bout my good reputation
You're living in the past (1998) it's a new generation
A halfling can do good when he wants to do good and that's
    what I'm gonna do
So don't you give a hoot Dorn 'bout my good reputation

Eheheh is your charname a bard :)?

If only halfling bards were allowed! He's a bar… bar… ian.

I've only got Neera so far, and I haven't noticed what I guess is her lack of chiming in on the one or two rep increases I've earned since. Considering I only have Imoen and Viconia in addition, I guess I haven't been paying attention.

I do plan on picking up the monk and Dorn, and I fear I'll have to watch the rep if I end up wanting to retain Dorn, especially if he's apparently not giving any warning clue as to his dissatisfaction. (Then again, Viconia should be enough of a warning.)

CHARNAME is chaotic neutral so he probably wouldn't fret much about Dorn and Viccy going off to make some mayhem if necessary to keep the overall party reputation in check. But I (the player) am a kind-hearted, soft, goody-two-shoes who likes to be a hero. I just don't mind hanging with the wrong crowd while I do it.

I'm not sure how it works when you report a bug, should they answer to my topic? Or is it enough to post the topic in the bug section even if the developers don't answer?

    I could be wrong, but...
I've checkd some files of all new NPCs, while working on my custom soundsets - they just don't have these lines at all + no audio files for:
    morale
    happy
    unhappy_annoyed
    unhappy_serious
    attack1
    area_forrest
    area_city
    area_dungeon
    area_day
    area_night
    react_to_die_general

    like others, vanilla NPCs.
In that case I think it isn't a bug at all...

That's disappointing, why would they decide not to record these lines:(?

But at the end of Rasaad story (you can find it in Candlekeep Library, in baldursgate.com) there are 3audio samples, I thought one of them was the one when he is unhappy (the one about searching in the darkness and rarely emerge into the light)

Oh, and unfortunately my post on the bug section was ignored :(, if some of you guys have the same problem can you replay to that topic, so that the developers can see it? Maybe they can tell us if it's a bug or not.

    No idea.
Rasaads sets in the library are from various dialogs.

    p.s.:
You can check it for yourself with infinity explorer or near infinity.
I couldn't find audio sets, even text quotes for the missing lines.
