Ring of evermemory (ring of wizardry) on specialist mage

Current behaviour:
Without the ring of evermemory, Edwin can normally cast 6 level one spells.
With the ring this changes to 12. However, after resting (or maybe after loading a game - not sure), the 12th spell-slot disappears. The 12th spell itself is still memorized and castable, but the border of the 12th slot has disappeared.
Reresting with the same spells memorized will still memorize the same 12 spells.
However, once you remove a spell, you get down to 11 spells and you can't memorize a 12th spell since the UI doesn't allow this.

Expected behaviour:
The UI shows 12 memorizable spell slots.
Workaround:
Unequip & equip the ring of wizardry

Here's an image of the bug: http://postimage.org/image/swf0gjbi7/
You can still cast the spell in the last slot, and it will still be memorized after resting, but if you remove a spell, you will not be able to memorize 12 spells anymore.
I wonder if this is a new bug, or existed in ToB.
