Graphics are Too Dark

Is there any way to brighten the graphics? All I have for graphics control are to check boxes--one for full-screen, the other for mouse hardware. The original BG had sliders for brightness and contrast; Enhanced has none. I REALLY need the screen brighter if I'm to see what's happening in the game.

My computer uses an NVIDIA graphics card--not sure if that's part of the issue.

Well, for now there are no other graphical options, other than those you've mentioned.

    [EDIT]
Try opening Baldur.ini with a WordPad (before doing that make a backup copy of this, in case you mess something up).
    Then try to change:
    'Program Options', 'Gamma Correction', '0',
    'Program Options', 'Brightness Correction', '0',

Change the value from 0 to something other, like 5. And checkout if it helps.

Baldur.ini is in your Documents/Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition folder

Great suggestion, Kirkor! I shoulda thought of it. Changing the value of gamma and brightness does manipulate it somewhat--though not nearly as well as the sliders. This is an omission that definitely needs to be added into the game controls. But your idea is a good work-around in the meantime. Thanks!

After playing with it for a while, I am thoroughly convinced that the game options need to include proper brightness and contrast sliders. Forcing brightness through the *.ini file makes the graphics about the ugliest I have ever seen. Contrast adjustments in the *.ini file do not remain; load a game, and it resets the contrast to zero.

This problem needs to be fixed, no question.
