Difficult playing the game - Group cannot attack enemies

As the title describes, I have a lot of trouble attacking enemies and fights take much longer than they should unless I die first and quickly.

Anyone experienced this too?

Thanks!

Please clarify, are you unable to target the enemies? Or are you simply swinging and missing?

I would have no idea how to fix the first, but I can certainly help with the second.

Heh... my characters do not always attack when they receive attacking orders. They don't get close to the target as if they are stuck. Even if they are right next to it.

Sounds like you have AI turned on with some scripts.

In the bottom right corner, there is a Party AI on/off and Select all button. You can change scripts by clicking on Record > Customize > Scripts

Turn AI off or put their scripts on Custom(none)

I can't think of anything else that would be causing what you describe

This is a pathfinding problem i think, i have it too.

When you send 2 fighters to an ennemy, first one stop before the ennemy and start to attack (OK), then the second fighter which follow the same path get stuck behind the first fighter...
So second fighter is stuck, trying to take the place of the first fighter.

So you have to click on the second fighter, make him go to another direction, and then re-target the ennemy, quiet annoying some times.

Thank you all for your updates guys.

My AI is indeed turned on, however all have "default" scripts.

And the "stuck" part is actually characters get stuck in the middle of nowhere.

I am a rather experienced Baldur's Gate fella that bought the first game back in the '98 and played it a zillion times through. I can even recite/describe what you will find in each area 14 years later!

I feel this is more of a BGEE issue rather than player inexperience.

I know they had the issue I described above and they mentioned they fixed it in a patch, but I'm still getting it, at least in a minor way.

Well, thank you to everyone that answered, really appreciated your help!
