Question about dual classing and proficiency slots

So I'm about to dual Shar-Teel to a thief and not sure how it works. She already has 2 stars in two-weapon style, if I put 1 star into it as a lvl 1 thief, will she have 3 stars when he gets back the fighter levels, or will that 1 star be lost?

    It will be lost. The only way to have pips stack when put into the same proficiency is to not level up until you have enough experience to complete the dualclassing, iirc.

    I don't know. Hopefully someone answers you, but (for instance) when I tried to do a google search to find out what happens when you raise a non-fighter's Strength score up from 18 with a stat book, I couldn't find the answer online. I gave up and just did it myself, and I discovered that you jump from plain 18 straight to 19. I hope you don't have to waste the time and potential resources to find your answer, so good luck.
