Do the new characters cost extra money?

I heard that the new characters cost like $3 each, is that true? I'm sure this question has been asked before but the search engine failed me. If true, doesn't that make the game $29? I'm seriously JUST about to buy this, if anyone can answer that would be great (I was waiting for some patches).

Only on iPad, the PC version comes with them all included. And the iPad version is cheaper to begin with so it doesn't actually cost more.

They're free on PC and come as a standard part of the game (no extra installation).

Thanks guys, off to buy. I had a savegame on my friends laptop, but it was an older version of the game (launch prob), any idea if those will work fine with the new updated version (Ill have him email me them now)? Or will I have to start over?

It should work fine with the game as it is. I don't know of any patches that would invalidate save games from an earlier version of Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition.

Cool, I didnt want to lose my lvl 4/4 fighter mage. Or to go through the gnoll stronghold again with increased respawn.

Just a warning, if you've done a lot of the game with the bugged respawns you're going to be pretty badly underlevelled. All that XP adds up. When I got to the endgame I wasn't even halfway to the XP cap.
