Questions about specialist mages

Thinking about playing as an elven enchanter but not exactly sure how things work. I don't mind losing all the damage spells, its not my style of playing and I will bring another mage along anyway.

Reading through the spell description, I noticed that some spells have 2 schools listed. For example Fire Shield Red is evocation and alteration, wish has conjuration and evocation.

So my question is, if I have evocation as opposing school, will I still be able to cast fire shield and wish?

Secondly, at character creation all specialist mages have only one opposing school, but many guides/faqs write that some have two.

Is the description good and theres always only one opposing school? Was this changed in BG:EE? And if it was, does it work correctly?

If I'm not mistaken, in the original BG1 there were 2 opposing schools to every specialty, but in BG2 (and therefor in BG:EE since it uses the same engine) it was reduced to just 1 opposing schools per specialty
