Neera Romance Question (SPOILERS)

So ok - I'm relatively close to the beginning of the game, on my way to rescue Minsc's woman. Neera starts chatting with me and tells me she has been having thoughts about me. Having saved the game right before this, I try a couple of different dialogue options. The first time I stay good and noble, and she says I thought there was more to you then meets the eye...and then my journal updates suggesting she likes me.

However, exploring the other dialogue options shows that she responds better when I flatter her (if I were wild magic, I'd choose you), or when I say I'd protect her, or when I'm bold with her. When I do those things, though, the journal never updates, making me think she doesn't like me and the romance is dead.

I'd like to keep the romance going, but I'm confused because her words suggest she likes my other chat options, but when i'm straightforward and show no personality, my journal updates. Anyone have any thoughts?

    The journal will update to tell you if the romance is over, so don't worry unless you see that message.

    Thanks! I tried flirting with her in a different order, and the journal updated to say that she likes me, so I'm going to assume that is a good thing and I'll just continue on my way.
