What resolution?

how do I tell what resolution BG:EE is using on my 27" monitor which is native with 2560x1440. reason I want to know is because I recently started playing BG2 with the widescreen mod set to 1600x900, although the picture seemed clear and sharp it was zoomed out, I didn't like that. I changed widescreen mod on BG2 to 1280x720, it wasn't so zoomed out but the picture was much more noticeably jagged. I loaded up BGEE, and the picture seems perfect, not zoomed in or out and very smooth. Is it possible to make BG2 look like this or is this one of the enhanced features of BGEE?

    That's one of the features of BGEE. BG2EE will look sharp, too!

    Take a screenshot; default key should be [Print Screen] and the file ends up in your documents\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition\ScrnShot folder. Then just check the size of the screenshot and you know what resolution the game is running at.

    hmm thanks i did that, they come out @ my native res 2560x1440, but the picture is not zoomed out like in widescreen mod for bg2. If i tried 2560x1440 on bg 2 widescreen mod, my picture onscreen would be tiny, i wont be able to see much at all.

    Afraid I can't offer much advice when it comes to mods or resolution tuning. I -can- tell you that BGII:EE will feature the same mechanics, but that's still some time away and doesn't help when you wish to play BGII -now-. Maybe some of the more moddy people can chime in with some advice.

    @shadow85 that's one of BG:EE's features. The game is rendered at your desktop resolution, but the game window is scaled and sharpened. At the default zoom level, I'm not sure which resolution the game is at but I would peg it around 1280 x 720. The BG2 engine doesn't have the ability to render in native and upscale game content like the EE does.

    ok that makes sense now thanks. damm guess I wont be playing BG2 for a while. I like the look of EE much better than widescreen mod. But I dont wana play BGEE untill some mods I like are compatible, if they every will be. :)
