Drizzt Loldeath (One in a Million)

Today I went to the area with Drizzt and the gnolls, seeing if I could try my hand at trapping him on the island somehow and shooting him to death. It happened to be raining in the area. I had my party off to the side and had Dorn aggro him through conversation, then lead him up onto the island... as I did this Dorn got struck by lightning and took massive damage. Drizzt kept following and they got to the island, and Dorn quaffed an invisibility potion as my party moved into position down below... all of a sudden, I hear the reputation loss sound effect and look up to see a charred body on the ground and 12000 xp on my screen... Drizzt got struck by lightning, died, and Dorn got the kill! Lol! Sadly no screenshot though, wasnt even looking when it happened -_-

    Maybe a higher-than-normal chance of lightning striking and killing Drizzt has been implemented as a way for good aligned characters to get his loot?

    I think there's a bug in that area that causes lightning to strike. I posted it in that other thread about Drizzt dying the same way, but Khalid and Jaheira got struck by lightning four times between them when I helped him kill the gnolls.

    I've been struck by lightning a couple of times in my playthrough, but nowhere near as frequently as what you guys are describing. Are you sure you didn't make the DM mad or something? ;)

    I've seen him get killed by gnolls in the original game. He spotted me and tried to talk, but was surrounded by gnolls and they wailed on him for a good 10 minutes till they killed him with crits. I thought it was hilarious and just set there and watched.

    They should add dialogue options to BG2 accordingly. "Yes, I do know you. You got struck by lightning and killed last time we met."

    Lightning causes damage now in BG:EE? IIRC, it didn't cause damage in the original BG.

    I went there and no lightning strike. I engaged him on several tries and failed. :( I just ended reloading and moving on and not get the Drizzt kill. Gonna have to do something about that magical resistance of his.
