Perdue's Short Sword

It's a sidequest, not part of the main story. If you do not want this quest spoiled for you, do not read on.

Alright. I've undertaken this quest to find his sword. I've been searching 10 areas or so, and finally googled it, to find out it should be exactly where I thought it would be, in the first area I searched, High Hedge. Now, my problem is, that I probably killed the gnolls that had the sword, only to leave it on the ground because well, it probably looked like a regular short sword. Can I get this ANY other way then resorting to consoles? I've checked all the shops I've used, mainly those in Beregost, but none had the sword for sale. Thanks in advance!

Not that I know of. It is a unique item, looking exactly like a short sword but bearing Perdue's name on it. If it has disappeared from the ground, it is gone.

I wouldn't let this bother you too much the quest gives you 500 exp which in the grand scheme of things isn't much..

If the sword is no longer where you killed the gnolls; there is no way (that i know of) to complete this quest

The console command for adding perdue's short sword to your inventory is:

    CLUAConsole:CreateItem("SW1H17")

In case you really want to finish it. :)

Thank you guys for the replies. I'll probably try to get the console working. Won't spent much more then 5 minutes on it though. Because as Rio said, those 500 exp doesn't do much in the grand scheme of things. I'm just a perfectionist :>

I've always collected everything in BG and sold everything. In my first BGEE play through I decided to not do this and of course I missed his sword as I forgot where it was and did not pick up anything that looked like a normal short sword.

I still don't mind it the way it is because it says in the description where it's at, so it's my fault for not remembering to look.

Hehe yeah. I know it's my own fault as well. Although I must say, I've never picked up every little thing. I do how ever pick up every gold pile, no matter how small it might be!
