Banters between new and old NPCs?

So I heard there were banters between the new NPC's and some of the old ones, but they only fired in new areas. Does anyone know if this is the case, and if so, do you know which old NPC's they talk to, so I'll know who I should have in my party if I want to hear this kind of stuff?

I haven't seen any banters yet, but I accepted Dorn momentarily and Ajantis and Imoen were not happy about it.

Banters are not limited to new locations. That wouldn't make much sense since Dorn doesn't have his own area. :)

Viconia says a bunch of things to Rasaad, and Tiax has a funny interaction with Dorn.

Khalid says something when you meet Rasaad / let him into your group... something about them both being Calimshites I think... that's pretty much all I had!

I have came across precisely 2 new banters, so they are sparse indeed.

I had Shar-Teel challenge Dorn into a duel, but he said such things are beneath him and they eventually left it at that.

The only new guy I'm carrying around this time is Dorn, and he has quite a few of those. Quayle and Shar-Teel come to mind.

    Also... new areas? O.o

I have seen very little in the way of banter between not only the new and old, but also between the new NPCs. Thus far, only one comment from Dorn concerning Neera. I have Viconia, Rashaad, Dorna (female now), Neera, and mah little sis. No real banter from any of them (which is really surprising, considering Rashaad and Viconia should be at each other's throats, considering that their Gods are enemies (Selune vs Shar).

Very disappointing, to say the least.

In my recent play-through, Dorn debated honor with Branwen and was offered a mercenary job by Kagain. Neera didn't say much, but I'm pretty sure she was bugged, since she barely spoke at all after the Adoy quest.

@WebShaman I put Viconia and Rasaad in the party just for the expectation of fireworks. I recall in BG2 it was very hard to keep Minsc from chunking Edwin, Korgan would berate Aerie to the point of leaving the party, and Keldorn and Viconia would throw down too...So I too was expecting a little more.

He doesn't?! You mean that region with the necromancer chick was in the original as well (minus the Dorn plot stuff)? My memory of the original is really fading, because I thought I never saw that before :(

    Edit (spoilers):
A bunch of party members also have some quite negative dialogue if you order Dorn to kill them.

    Added spoiler tag. -Jalily

    @Mechalibur
Wait what? Dorn's not in my party so I don't know much. Um.
You can order Dorn to kill other party members? Or is it just, direct him to attack them?

Ajantis have some comments in Dorn's encounter if you invite him to the party.
Also Dorn can have a mini-conversation with everybody in his dialog about traitors. For me was it Neera, Xzar, Edwin, Jaheira. But the dialog with Xzar was bugged :-)

@Mechalibur Yes, that area was in the original.

    @LadyEibhilinRhett
That's not really what happens, but @Mechalibur is referring to a certain dialogue. Don't want to spoil too much.

@Jalily is that a shopped hybrid of Imoen and Alyson Hannigan?

Rasaad and Viconia have had some definite fireworks in one of my games, leading me to believe that they will either end up killing or screwing one-another. Should be entertaining, either way!

@The_Cheeseman They mouthed off to each other a few times when they first came into the fold, but nowhere near the constant threat of dire consequences reaped by incompatible party members in BG2. yet.

    Concerning Dorn

Dorn basically tells you that everyone, ever, in your party is a traitorous sort. I have no idea how his Charisma is 16 when he treats everyone like shit. *Shakes head* Such an asshole.

Shar-Teel challenged Dorn to a duel, but he refused.

I wonder if all these little spats will port over to BG2.
Well, you'd need Shar-Teel in BG2 to do that (which would be awesome), but I was wondering about the Rasaad / Viconia one, as well.

I've had Viconia and Rasaad in my current game from very early on and there have only been some interjections from Viconia during his quest in the Cloud Peaks. It's late in the game now--I have the ToSC quests to complete, and finish what's left of the game after returning to BG city from Candlekeep revisited.

PC has Cha of 10, so if there's going to be conflict I would think I should be seeing it. I definitely expected more. But it sounds like at least one poster here has seen more, so I remain hopeful.

Dorn has a dialogue about trust in which he addresses other party members (in my games, it was always Kagain and how he can't be trusted because he's in for gold, but I think there are more options).
    Shar-Teel challenges Dorn.
Edwin refuses to stay in the party if Neera joins and asks you to make a choice between them. (That is Neera's first encounter, if you get Edwin before her. He'll complain about having to kill fellow Red Wizards.)
    No idea about Rasaad.

In my game, Imoen commented on me taking Dorn into the party after his encounter down south. I don't believe this has been mentioned before, but it wasn't real banter, more like a short interjection.

My male half-elf F/M has had only one 'friendship' dialogue with Neera. Not much of the game left to play. I was kind of expecting a little more there too.

My impression is that most of the development for BG:EE was in rewriting the code, especially for iPad. Consequently for some features that some players find a bit disappointing might not have had resources available (people/time) to have put forth the best possible effort. Eg, the movies, not many banters.

@tilly Thanks. Yep, I've had a conversation with her that I guess could be called a 'flirt'. She now has "nothing to say to me" anymore if I talk to her. I'm nearing the end of the game now in Chapter 7.

Clearly, it's based on looks alone, because Dorn is the hottest half-orc ever. . -c .
