Problem when changing kits in shadowkeeper

Decided to change from mage to specialist mage with shadowkeeper, but I didn't gain the extra spell slots. Am I missing something, or is this a bug in shadowkeeper? Any workaround?

You might have to wait to level up. See if that does anything.

When changing to any new kit, zero your character's level in that class, and remove all the benefits you gained from it, then just level all the way back up when you load the save. This ensures you'll pick up extra slots and level 1 abilities that you'd otherwise miss.

You can also add the extra spell slot(s) in the appropriate tab, but it will be properly recalculated at your next level up.
