Shapeshifters

Back in the day I played a Shapeshifter in BG2 and loved it. I don't think I played very far before taking a hiatus from the game but I remember having fun with the kit. I'm thinking about trying it out again on my next play through BGEE and I was wondering if, with the balancing and alterations to kits and what not, if it will be viable or if it's a gimped kit. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Not sure if it was balanced at all. I started a shapeshifter just to test it a few days ago and managed to massacre about 20 candlekeep guards witouth taking any damage.

The kit hasn't been touched. This is also a topic that has been brought up/discussed fairly recently here in the general section of the forum.

Ah, many thanks. So it probably wouldn't be prudent to roll until it's patched?
