How cloud-saving will be handled?

Would like to know more on this subject.
Long time ago @TrentOster (or was it @CameronTofer?) has mentioned that they consider using Dropbox for this.
But rumor has it Apple rejecting applications which use Dropbox..

According to his twitter feed this is how they will be handeling cloud-saves as far as Apple is concerned:

TrentOster: We'll likely go the third party route. Apple has it pretty good with Game Center and iCloud. PC-wise, we're still thinking.

Hope we will be able to proceed with current game without manual-savegames-moving on announced devices:
PC <=> iPad <=> Mac <=> ... (Android? )

how will cloud saving regard mods? it'd be cool if we could save mods into the cloud that affects all platforms and games, but i don't think this would be possible
