Are people able to use custom voice sets?

I just tried adding my first custom voice set to BG:EE (it was actually the default female voice used in BG2, which I had already imported into my original BG1). I was able to get the voice set to appear among the list of voice options, but after choosing that voice, my char doesn't make any sounds when I click or move her.

What is the latest word on using custom voice sets? Are others here able to make them work?

They sorta work for me, but seem to still have some issues.

To be honest, I feel they could've added the number of slots on BG:EE, because IWD voices have a lot more things to say, and even hurt/death sound effects. So I can't say they could ever work as well as I'd like them to.

It is bugged I think. You can overwrite existing sounds though. Name your new soundset like male1 (example:male1a male1b etc) and replace existing ones. Then they work fine.

Would you mind sharing how you were able to import the voice sets from Icewind Dale? I've been wanting to do this.

Just tried that, but the only problem is that the text that appears does not match the custom sounds, and attack sounds (xxxxxa) just refuse to play. For me anyway.

There is a thread on how to get them to work and even add subtitles, but it requires more work than it should (which is just copy-pasting and naming files) seeing as you have to edit with DLTCEP and whatnot.

Yep, I followed the instructions set by Dib using DLTCEP and incorperated the mod created by CUV, but it seems that any custom soundset (and any party member soundset) only VERY rarely plays their attack sound - instead playing an 'action acknowledgement' sound when told to attack. Which is as described in Cuv's readme.

So for those who say they have soundsets working - do you have the attack command playing?.

I have gotten Custom Voice sets to work using DLTCEP and the method described above. I, occasionally, do still hear the Battlecry but it is rare and only seems to play after a character kills his current target and switches to another. It also seems that Rare Selection sounds are not working as they should. Instead of playing after multiple clicks, they play randomly when selecting the first time. Hopefully, a patch will remedy these issues and make it to where you dont need to use DLTCEP to get them to work anymore.
