ISO: ways to protect from Lightnings

Trying a solo insane HC mode (F/M/T) - died twice so far ;D

The second time I was already something like 3/3/4 with Greenstone Amulet - took a Lightning to the face from Kirian (area with Mutamin's Basilisks), had less than 40 HP at the time - restart.

The dumb thing I certainly did was not having Mulahey's Boots of Grounding in the backpack at the time (no idea why).

What are other ways/items to protect from electricity (apart from the scroll)?

There are potions of absorbtion which gave you %100 electricity resistance. Only sold in BG but they are some drops/loots around.

Cheaper Potions of Grounding also exist for 50% resistance, and with the boots, that's immunity.

Overall the best defence is to be unseen however, if you're invisible by the time it is cast, most spells should fizzle.

And mathematically, with 50% resistance damage is halved? And with a successful save and 50% resistance damage is reduced to 25%?

There are also spells for this

Not to mention the scrolls and potions of magic blocking

Natural lightning is probably the druid spell Call Lightning. You can cast lv 4 Minor Globe of Invulnerability to become immune to it. Grant, it has a very lousy duration, so stick with potion.
