How to trigger the encounter with Dorn :/

already in Chapter 5 and explored all the areas but still could not find Dorn....
I read that Dorn can be found when waylaid by enemy on the way to Nashkel, so is there any special requirements for this encounter?

You must talk to Dorn in the Friendly Arms, then travel to the Nashkel Mines. C'est tout.

You need to talk to him in the Friendly Arm Inn. He'll just snub you, but you get a journal entry mentioning that he seems handy in a fight or something. Then, travel to the Nashkell mines. Not sure if it has to be any any particular route, but I did Nashkell > Mines. I don't know if being in Chapter 5 already will affect this, as I did this right away so I could pick him up as soon as possible.

After speaking with Dorn first at the FAI (required), upon entering the Nashkel mines map area, an encounter that at first glance may appear like the garden variety type will be triggered--except in this case it is not the standard fare.

It can take a number of area tranistions for this to happen. And 'on the to Naskel' might be better phrased as 'when transitioning from the areas south of Naskel'.

Bump around the Cloud Peaks, resting and changing areas. This encounter has always been tardy (seemingly) for me.

It seems to work consistently when area-transitioning from Naskhel to the Nashkel mines (after first speaking with Dorn).
