Kivan leaves

Hi, does anybody know why Kivan leaves the party when I talk to him? I have reputation 20, I'm in Baldur's Gate a when I try to talk with him, he says: I fear that I must take my leave... a he leaves.
What is it, he doesn't like?
Thanks

Its a old bug with wwith him, he had a quest line but it never got finished. so when you talk to him he gets upset that your not doing his quest that does not exsist

hm...you would think that would be one of the first "400 bugs" the devs would have fixed....guess not :/

Thanks, it's no problem, I just won't speak with him. Cheers.

As the bug only occurs when you actively speak to him, an action which is pretty much never required to be done in BG1, I would imagine this to actually be pretty low priority in the grand scheme of things.

Still odd that that trigger wouldn't have been removed. Doesn't seem like it could have any negative effects, since it doesn't relate to anything else... right?

I wish they will finish his quest rather then remove the trigger when they fix this :3

@Necroblivion: but Kivan's quest is to avenge his murdered wife by killing Tazok ... and then the main plot was changed so that Tazok is with Sarevok in the final battle ... so finishing Kivan's quest is essentially the same thing as finishing the whole game, which obviously is what you're working towards throughout. Therefore the correct fix is to remove Kivan's trigger because it is now meaningless.
