Is Eldoth involved with the Iron Throne?

I am playing through the Cloakwood Mines right now. I've never used Eldoth, but I've read on these boards that he has an innate ability to create Poison Arrows. Interestingly, all the archers in the Cloakwood Mines can poison you; it seems like ONLY archers are able to do it, at least I was only poisoned by archers. But they only drop regular arrows.

Seeing as not much is known about Eldoth's history and you find him in Cloakwood, is it possible that he has something to do with the Iron Throne?

It is possible. His charm dialogue is also about the Iron Throne:

"Well, as your best friend I can tell you a few things. There's been some economic troubles in Baldur's Gate. There's been a lack of iron, and with the tensions between Amn and Baldur's Gate, this has been causing some concern. A mercantile organization called the Iron Throne has been making some headway within the economic circles of Baldur's Gate."

It's not conclusive, but it would explain why he's in Cloakwood of all places looking for people to help him "kidnap" Skie.

"As your best friend" looool What a d-bag. I may make a caster for my next playthrough and recruit him and Skie (and Garrick??) just to get a better sense of him.

But, yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking. Nothing conclusive (but how much conclusive info do we have about any of the NPCs, really), but it makes sense. You definitely had more info than my total stabs in the dark :)

I recruited him to get Skie, but I wanted to replace him with Skie and she was having none of that.

So I killed him in her bedroom and then she seemed pretty calm and ok with it, weird girl.

You do have to remember though, he's a bard. Knowing what goes on and about is a big part of what they do.

He's a con-man and gold digger. The whole "kidnap" Skie thing is just his latest con. And he's familiar with poisons due to using them to speed up inheritances or handle problem individuals in past schemes.
