But knowing what happens to him in that game, plus the fact I usually hook up with you know who, renders him sort of pointless and a nuisance on replays of BG1. He always goes to play with the bears, naked as the day he was born, at the first opportune moment.
Enough reason for me to stay away from his company...
Cheated?
On the novel, yep Khalid sleeps with a fellow Harper female and then Jaheira hits on Abdel (PC) at that night in his room when Abdel mistakes Jaheira for intruder and gives her one big whack at the face before realizing his mistake.... Khalid doesn't stutter and he's fairly confident half-elf...
Haha! Well, true! It's really weird, especially if you've played the game before. What?! Xan was a fighter? Irenicus a pansy! Romance with Bodhi!
I kinda applaud the author's efforts to make the novel really different from the game... But yeah, it's really weird.
Back to Khalid...
Smiling, smooth-talking playboy who doesn't show much remorse (mostly just a token gesture) after cheating.... Not welcome in my party... Funny I kinda feel sorry for Jaheira in the novel... Which is kinda opposite the players would feel in the game...

You should be permabanned for even mentioning that "story."
Once he can put a third star in bows, Khalid becomes a better archer than Kivan- who people take exclusively to use a bow and is never called underpowered. This makes him, after Coran, the second best archer in the game- in a game where archery is very strong indeed.
Can Kivan and Coran do a couple of side things Khalid can't? Sure, but then he can probably tank better than them thanks to his CON.
If you don't like him, thats fine- but as the no.2 archer on the sword coast, he can absolutely stand up in terms of power.
I thought all copies of the novel had been burnt? Given the reviews it received I would not mind reading it just to see for myself if it's reputation is so deserving.
It's plus point is that Philip Athans has a pretty readable writing style, and also if you really hate Khalid
his death is pretty funny in a very lame way, who the hell gets slimed to death by a mustard jelly FFS?
He's nothing like in-game Khalid though, far more manipulative for starters.
