Hi. I was just starting a new inquisitor build in Sacred 2, just for kicks, just because. I must say, that playing the Darkside can be awfully ... liberating.
The first thing that made me think so, was that, I used bargaining skill and got a scythe, right out the starting gate. With my flowing black robes, I felt like "bwahahaha, I am the Incarnation of Death! Fear me!"
Then, I got my first of the infamous "escort" missions, where the "escort" is squishy, and has a death wish. So, I totally ignored the fool and went about my business of uncovering map and gathering loot. And, of course, he died about thirty seconds after I took his stupid quest. Now, on all my multitude of "good" playthroughs, in the past, I would have thought, "Oh no! That poor soldier! Now I have a red mark in my quest book! Woe is me!"
You know what I thought this time? "GOOD! I'm free of the idiot. That fool is dead, as he deserves. What a stupid weakling! WHY would he even think he should travel with me? I am the Incarnation of DEATH! Stupid, stupid, meatshield! I'm so happy that nature took its course so quickly! BWAAhahaha!"
Damn, friends, this is fun! What a wonderful catharsis!
Sooooooo.... here is what this has to do with BG:EE. I am thinking of starting my first ever, virgin, evil run. What wonderful ideas I have!
1) Despite my Darwinian ruthlessness, I still don't care to intentionally cause suffering or pain to the innocent. Only to "those who deserve it." Of course, "those who deserve it" means, "anyone who insults me or disrespects me in any way whatsoever."
2) I will therefore manage my reputation by opening chests, entering any locked house I please, and taking anything that is not nailed down as a "tax" to the Inquisition. These commoners in the Sword Coast totally owe the Inquisition for their lives. They should be grateful to pay me whatever is in their little shanties in return for my protection.
3) Since I will be taxing the population of the Sword Coast in order to keep my reputation at "FEAR ME", where it belongs, I will of course be helping all those who need my help. And can pay me.
4)So then, what "friends" shall I take with me on my virgin journey of EEEEEvil and DEAaaaaaaTH? Well, I'm thinking, Monty and Xzar, with Xzar probably to be replaced with Edwin. Monty will stay with me, out of abject fear, when he sees what I do his "friend", who is clearly insane, and must be sacrificed to Nature, as "Natural Selection" demands. Monty knows which side his bread is buttered on. Dorn is a no-brainer for this little party. He's the strongest NPC in the game now, and the only reason to NOT take him would be in service some misbegotten notion of "good".
I need a healer woman, so that's got to be Viconia. She will learn to keep her place as a healer and a follower to my leadership, as yes, a male. If she wants to lord it over males, she can just go back underground to her beloved Drow society. We'll see if her "softer" side can distract me from my quest for absolute power, so I can rule the world with ORDER.
I'll probably take Kagain as well. I respect his mastery of the axe, and I appreciate his ruthless pursuit of gold. We all know that money is POWER. I intend to be the richest ruler on the Sword Coast. Kagain will be well-rewarded.
Hmmm, that leaves me with either keeping Imoen, or maybe taking Eldoth. Or Faldorn. Or Safana. Hmmm.
5) Oh, I didn't say what I would be. I'm thinking either sorcerer or conjurer. Probably sorcerer, so I can contribute to our rightful omnipotence in a different way than my bestie beastie, Edwin.
6) I will of course become the new God of Death, as I deserve. Not just the puny "Lord of Murder". I will take not only Bhaal's portfolio, but also Cyric's, Myrkul's, Bane's, and Kelemvor's. I will become THE god of Death, not just "A" god of Death. And, once I completely control the end portion of the Cycle of Birth and Death, Shar is next. I will control Night, Darkness, and starlight. Finally, I will take Selune as my consort, and control the moon as well.
So, isn't this "evil" business just SOooooo much fun? Bwaaaaahahaha!

My only beef with your post would be with your having used the term "OP". There is no such thing. There are only the Uebermenschen, and everybody else. Why would you disparage, dilute, and weaken your well-deserved will-to-power, by using a term that implies that you should not have it, and which term was coined by those you have every right to dominate, by the very Law of Nature itself?
Sorry, had to say it
I have never been able to bring myself to play evil yet either. But I am toying with the idea, just got more ideas now, thanks to this thread
I typically kit her out in mithril chain, varscona/burning earth, Claw of Kaz, Sandthief
Since you already have monty, he can be your utility thief.
Alternatively, I might instead drop monty, grab Safana get her to 6, drop her, get the INT tome and pick her back up and dual her to mage. (Or I guess just keep Imoen). 6 thief can get 90ish in the utility skills, and you're a sorcerer, so the INT tome means little to you.
I generally don't bother with more than 6 thief levels unless I am building a backstabber, like Shar-Teel above.
BG2:EE will be glorious!
And, I am ashamed to say, Shadow Me is a male chauvinist, sexist pig. Shar-Teel and I have no hope of getting along, ever. I'd more than likely kill her upon her initial challenge. If either she or Viconia ever tried to belittle me for being a male, or tried to belittle me in any way for my masculinity, I am ashamed to say that Evil-Me would kill her without a second thought, and would find pleasure in doing it.
I am going to have to keep to a mostly male party here. Since I need a reliable divine caster, i.e. me, and Edwin can more than adequately fill my arcane casting needs, I think I will become a dark priest of Talos. He will grant me all the divine spells I need, because He knows that I am a strongly devoted friend of the Dark, but even moreso, because He knows that my destiny is to become a god greater than Him. I will reward Him in my new pantheon for having helped me before I reached my divinity. He knows this, and thus, he succumbs to the inevitable, and grants me all the divine power I need to reach my goals.
I am looking at myself, Edwin, Dorn, Montaron, and probably Garrick, because he amuses me, he can pick pockets and rob the short-sighted shopkeepers who want to cheat me, and I, well, let's kindly say, I "enjoy" his company. And his tight "assets".
So, who for a sixth? I will probably take Viconia, unless she makes the mistake of insulting me. If she does, I may try Branwen, who will likely be impressed by my power, after Viconia's untimely execution. Or, perhaps I will keep Xzar for an extra arcanist. Or even Xan, since his wise grasp of the obvious amuses me. I could also use a stealth/backstab focused thief, in addition to a traps/locks focused thief, so I might have Monty focus on the stealthy/backstabby thing and keep Imoen around for the trapsy/locksy thing. Garrick can handle the stealing, unless he displeases or fails me. If he does, I can always kill him and replace him with Eldoth, or with any other common pickpocket I find.
Hey, people, you want evil? I'll give you EEEEEEEEEE-vil! Witness the power of "scary, veiny" Inquisitor Belgar. . . (Gregorian chant and ominous bell chimes begin to sound...)
BTW - I'm looking forward to developing my ability to control the undead. Bodhi should make an especially impressive addition to my collection of vampire slaves.
May ice surround your heart, and give you cold strength.
I will never play evil, but I'm playing neutral now with some evil party members and I totally understand the freedom feeling!
@rdarken, Garrick is chaotic neutral. If I really get as evil as I've been roleplaying here, my rep might go down too low for neutrals, though, so I may need Eldoth.
@and_then_or, I do hope you know I'm kidding. I'm just roleplaying a Darth Vaderesque or Emperor Palpatinesque villainous character type, for fun and giggles.
In Character:
I find your lack of faith disturbing. (points index finger)
