dual class

hey i am playing cavalier and i want to dual class him but i can't figure out how . i see the button but it's always grayed out so if someone could help please

    Paladins can't dual class, sorry. The only valid dual class options are multiclass options, and paladins cannot multiclass with anything.

    To dual-class, you have to pick a viable multiclass combo, make sure your alignment is right (no lawful good thieves), then make sure your character has at least 15 in their first class's prime stat(s) and at least 17 in the second class's prime stat(s). So, if you want a fighter dualled to thief, you'd need a non-lawful good fighter with at least 15 strength and at least 17 dexterity, and get him at least to level 2.

    There's more to it than that, dual-classing gets pretty complicated. I wouldn't recommend it for a new player.
