spawning issue?

I found Minsc and went to the gnoll fortress area. My party appeared at the edge of the bridge near the side of the map. Minsc appeared at the far top right corner, inaccessable to my party. Unable to leave the area with him in the party, and returning from different areas placed me at the edge of the bridge.

The entire party, Minsc included should spawn next to eachother when entering an area.

possible bug?
