Couples NPCs and more...

I just finished the game and re-started it... i plan to use quite different party members this time.

i find them couples very annoying and do not allow you to craft your party as you wish, is there a trick to kick just one beside violent dead? also how do you kick someone from party? (i mean beside when you invite a 7th one)

You can let one of them die and just reform them out of the party without resurrecting them.

Kick 'em out and leave the map before they can talk to you.
    Petrify them.
Go to Character Record and hit "Reform Party".

I usually go into a house I'll never go into again, reform party, and then immediately leave. If I ever want them back I can just go to that house.

Much simpler solution: send the one you want to kick out to a remote corner of the map, and weigh them down with excess inventory before kicking them out. Since they can't approach you to initiate the dialogue that removes both NPCs, you get to keep the one you wanted and leave the one you didn't. :)

How is that simpler than walking them into a room you're never going to enter again? Especially since you need to have heavy loot to weigh them down with.

I find the building next to the temple in Beregost a handy place to ditch part of the couple that I don't want. Since there is nothing in there anyway. Have the unwanted NPC zone in, then reform the party kicking them out, then just don't enter that building.

@lDanielHolm: There were times I tried the door trick and the NPC somehow appeared in the open after the map switch, even though I'd closed the door. It works, but it's not infallible.

i would have no problem with it if there wasn't that many couples around

Come to the understanding that not every adventurer is single, are accounted for, and would not want to be left away from the one who has captured their heart.

I always got the impression that Montaron doesn't like Xzar. How wrong I've been :)

Yeah, like Xar and Montoron. Er.... sort of...

Strip all items from the NPC you want to get rid of and then either get them to read a cursed flesh to stone scroll or make them do the Basilisk Walk in mutamin's garden. The advantage of this approach is that they can always be reactivated later, if required.

That's why you dump them in a house. Their "loved" one is still alive he/she is just resting while you are doing some quest.
