Throne of Bhall ascension mod: Abazigal

Since it is so highly recommended, I decided to play throne of bhaal with ascension. It's been fun so far and actually a challenge, but after failing so many times just to die with only Abazigal left in dragon form on my last attempt, I think I need some help. My party is fighter, Jaheira, Sarevok, Viconia, Minsc, Imoen. I am willing to replace any of them for a short time except Jaheira (I am doing her romance) I am beginning to think I could use another mage or 2 so I have more Abi Dalzims. Any help is appreciated because I just want to continue. This would be my first time finishing a full series run and I am hoping to finish it soon because I want to play some games I got for sale on steam but I want to finish this first.

    Have you done Watcher's keep yet? If not, my recommendation would be to go there first. You can level up and collect plenty of high-end items. Then go to Cespenar and upgrade them. That will give you a serious power boost.

    If you've already done this, remember to buff everyone before the fight with spells and potions and have Viconia and Jaheira spam healing spells on your tanks. Summoning planetars/devas/solars and using them to heal/revive your party members is also a good idea. If things get too dicey for CHARNAME, consider Slayer form.

    Have you try Power Word Blind? Have 1 mage do a spell trigger of 3x lower resistance and second mage do a Power Word Blind = Guarantee Victory. Blinded dragon cant even see who is attacking it because its sight radius is smaller than the avatar circle.

    mordenkainen's sword (x5) is also a good summon, it is immune to all damage except for magical damage like magic missile and possibly horrid wilting, that is if they dont use death spell to kill yer summons

    lol it was just him again and i failed :(@Millardkillmoore yes, i have beaten watchers keep. all those wands sure come in handy :)@bbear I will have to try that next time i bring him to dragon form @sarevok57 yeah, they kill it with the death spell :( at least i think if that is the only thing they have to kill it. too much activity going on to tell.

    i guess i will continue tomorrow. it is late, but if anybody else has advice (even cheesy tactics at this point) the help would be appreciated. I am surprised I made it this far on insane, but this battle I cant seem to do even after turning it to core.

    also, if i disabled the harder battle, would i have to get rid of all of ascension? would that cause problems when i have been using it this whole time? first i would like tactics though, but i am curious because i really want to continue with the game.

    Shadowkeeper your character to a fighter/mage and put the Helm of Vahilor in his inventory. Have your image from the helm cast project image. Have the images cast timestop. GG

    if i remember that fight has a purple dragon, some greater wyverns, and abizagal himself? if so i founf that fight it bugged up, first loure the greater wyverns to your party and dont attack the dragon or abizigal, and abizigal and the dragon should just sit back, kill off the greater wyverns, and go to the top of the map, and rest up there, im pretty sure if you dont attack the dragon he doesnt come after you, one time i actually had it so the purple dragon and abizigal was in dragon form at the bottom of the screen and i was at the top and i could rest over and over again trying different stradegies to take them out

    @sarevok57 I will see if I can avoid the dragons, but usually they come find me. I think I also need to breech abazigal dragon form, but he tends to kill my imoen first

    i did it :D@sarevok57 while the dragon and him do go chasing after my party, he appears to have waited around from my mazed charname to return. i managed to kill all the the others and had the chance to save because he was off screen. then i just had to keep trying to kill just him.

    one quick question to anybody good with shadowkeeper. my sarevokchange variable is currently 3. i haven't heard from sarevok for a while, and i have been choosing the dialog that tells him he should turn good and have not had him give an oath, however, i hear that removing him could cause script errors. would declining him at first cause him to potentially have script errors? i had to remove valygar's equipment first. is the variable set to 3 correct? do u think i could still change his alignment if i changed some things in shadowkeeper? i would like to do it for real rather than change it their so that i could see his good ascension epilogue and in case he still betrays me if i dont do this legit.
