ShadowKeeper and number of attacks.

Last week I was trying to edit a save to import it into BG2, because I planned assuming I could change my proficiencies but that didn't end up being the case. I noticed that the number of attacks that is displayed for my character always equals 1 after opening the save, even though it's definitely not 1 in the game (level 8 paladin). After editing and saving the number of attacks was actually reduced to 1 as well in the game, which i rather annoying, because who knows what other stats were changed that I didn't notice.

The same happens for my BG2 saves.

Is this normal or am I doing something wrong here with this tool?

I think 1 is the base, then modifiers for being level 7+/specialised/etc are added in game. It's nothing to worry about.

If you edit the number of base-attacks prior to everything else, it overrides everything that changes the ApR.
Just ignore it as ryuken87 mentioned....it's nothing to worry about.

It's only useful for e.g. NPC mods, who have more pips than allowed, but class-restriction would deny it otherwise. Like a rogue's ApR is always 1 even if you 'cheat' it 5 pips. Though my game is tweak/fix-packed, so I dunno if its cause of this.
Kova from Beyond the Law has 3 pips in dagger, cause of the backstory...but would be limited to 1 attack per round...so it's set in the creature file to 1.5 (=the number you'll see if opened in shadowkeeper)

Guess it's also useful for ppl, who install mods that they can't beat and need to cheat that way ^^ like tactics/ascension..lol

That's kind of what I figured at first. But then I edited a save with my level 8 paladin, who had 3/2 attacks unarmed, and after loading the edited save I could've sword he was reduced to 1 apr. But I'm gonna check that again when I guess the chance, as you guys are probably right.

    Thanks for the help.

Most enemies ignore the proficiency system entirely and are assumed to have grandmastery, their actual thac0, ac, number of attacks is set in their .cre file. No NPC or player character should never have more then 1 when viewed in shadowkeeper, unless it's been specifically altered to be that way, such as in a mod, or someone dicking around.
