LAN game - same problems?

AvariAvari Member Posts: 38
I was wondering if someone knew if multiplayer on LAN suffer the same problems as when connected from afar?

I'm not much a network wizard, but is the port forwarding a problem when you're all connected to the same router for example? I take it that you do not need to use Hamachi, since you are physically on the same network, which is what Hamachi emulates?

I also take it that all the precautions for not crashing the game itself still apply? Like transfering character rights to leader when zoning and stuff like that.

We will be three players and if anyone has some experience with playing on LAN I'd be thankful to hear from you.

You should not need to portforward your router if everyone is connecting through the same router. Now I have heard that typeing in the hosts ip is still needed even in a lan game.

I played one game of lan BG and It did in fact work. Now I did have my ports forwarded but I don't believe they need to be. If you have any other questions I'll be willing to help.
