Since the other thread is closed, I'd just like to say that I really enjoyed reading all the entries for the last round regardless of which one ends up winning, they were all very good.
Hope that there are even more entries next time though.
Because we still have a few games to give out, we'll be continuing the contest with Round IV: portraits of uncommon class/race/gender combinations for PCs. For example, dwarven swashbucklers, gnomish wizard slayers, half-orc clerics, female gnomes/half-orcs/dwarves, or something else—it's up to you.
The round will have a format similar to those of previous rounds, lasting two weeks followed by one week of judging. It will begin 12 hours after the current judging week has finished; see the opening post for links to the schedule in your time zone.
Since we haven't run out of games yet, Round V will be happening...SOON. The theme will be portraits for non-joinable NPCs who do not already have one. For example, Black Lily, Shandalar, Davaeorn, Marek and Lothander—anyone except the likes of Drizzt and Elminster, who are famous outside the series and already depicted in a lot of art. Portrait guidelines will be the same as before. While only the small versions can be displayed next to the NPC's dialogue (through a mod), people like to use such portraits for their own PCs all the time.
The schedule is still being worked out, but we are considering a four-week round so that contestants will have enough time to do multiple entries if they wish. We'd be really interested in any feedback regarding this timeframe.
For our sixth round, we're going for a change of pace. This time, the theme is area art!
Baldur's Gate and its sequel let you explore a wide variety of locations, from a peaceful halfling village to an island of feuding werewolves. This month's theme invites you to draw area art for any in-game location, similar to the pictures of Nashkel, Baldur's Gate, Balduran's ship, and the Friendly Arm Inn that appear in the Enhanced Edition. Want to bring to life the infamous Durlag's Tower? Or the skeleton-infested Undercity with its ominous temple to Bhaal? Now's your chance to do so and possibly win a set of both Enhanced Edition games!
This round will start at midnight CET on May 9th and last four weeks as before. Check the OP for links to your time zone.
@Jalily - Just to confirm, when we are painting the scenery, must it be devoid of all people? I had this image of a silhouette of the party in my head looking out across the wilderness. Is this a no no?
