Vanishing Dorn

I searched the forum but I haven't been able to find any help on this. When I head twords the mine the enounter with dorn starts off, and then turns and walks twords the bottom of the screen and with the two named mobs following him. Then he just vanishes off the map. The two that were chaseing him just stop wherever they are and don't fight back either.
