Commoner damaging Neira in Nashkel's Inn !

It is the first time I see this happening - unfortunately I did not capture a print screen.

Walked into Nashkel's Inn, talked to Neira and after that, held her. A (female) commoner was rushing to the door from the back-end corridor of the inn and as she passed by a defensless Neira, she delivered a 1HP damage to the would-be assassin. I was shocked, had always assumed commoners were "neutral" in any fight and in any case not scripted to attack.

They sometimes do attack when passing nearby enemies. They attack unarmed and need to roll very high to land a hit, ofcourse. I am surprised why she saw Neira as an enemy, though. Had Neira cast any area effect spell that could have agroed the commoner?

Immediately after engaging conversation, both my PC and Neira cast Hold Person (I was mindshielded, she was less lucky). Hold Person is an AoE but only targets ennemies if I am not mistaken. So I was really surprised to see the commoner attack her (and hit for 1 dmg).

Bar fights don't always need a big reason.

Seriously I don't remember if that's ever happened to me.

The funny part was that she still left the inn like all other commoners! it is as if she used the opportunity of her fleeing and passing by a helpless Neira to just throw-in a side-kick which meant "why the heck do you bother us in our pub in the middle of happy hour?" / before dashing out.
